Some of the more popular woods used to make the ARCs are Ebony, East Indian Rosewood, Mahogany, Curly Maple, Walnut, and Wenge. The ARC can be made from a variety of other woods though and we are always working on increasing our stock with demand rising. For Ideas on wood possibilities you can have a look at the images below or check out East Coast Specialty Hardwood or Halifax Specialty Hardwood. Note that we are limited to what wood is available to us locally at the time of the order.
Keep in mind that the wood is a natural product you may discover unique features in your ARC, as well as a variation in colour and grain. Note that we do not offer staining, or dying but we will do our best to match the tone of the natural wood as best we can. Despite this, there may still be some colour differentiations between the wood we have access to and that used by the instrument builder. Also, the wood you're looking for may or may not be in stock at the moment so please double check with us to ensure we can obtain it.
If you're looking for your ARC to really pop here are some wood options that we can usually get our hands on: Purple Heart, Bocote, Zebra wood, Cocobolo, Birdseye Maple, Blood wood, Cedar, Red Oak, Palm, Olive, and many more! Note that prices may vary for certain wood choices, based on rarity.
